I've got them working 24/7 for over three years without problems, I've got them working 100% uptime in cold, damp, dusty, mouldy conditions as well as dry and enclosed. I've got Unos, Nanos, NodeNCU's, Mini-D1's, and a host of other models, from a bunch of different suppliers, all from aliexpress, and none have ever failed. ![]() I've got probably around 50 or so arduino compatible boards here, in various projects. If you have a story to tell, please tell it, but please do tell all of it, so the rest of us can make informed choices. So be specific - which "clones" have you bought that died earlier than the originals, for instance? I think I need to tie an attached pin high or low to put it into AT command mode then send it the text command. The only issue I had is I don't know how to get the HC-05 into pairing mode again. In my test program I had it send the time and temperature. The app takes each value and puts it in a labeled box so you can have data displayed on the phone. arduino bluetooth terminal, which receives a comma separated string of values that ends in a semicolon. Which displays buttons on the screen and you cam configure the buttons name and what text it sends. ![]() For that I used the bluetooth serial controller app. Then when the bluetooth received that color, I'd toggle that color led. Specifically I hooked up a red, yellow and green led. Then I had a code section that tested what text I got then act on it. I used the serial bluetooth terminal app on my phone to exchange text the pico. Then you can just read input from it and send output to it. If you don't use the default pins then you need to specify which ones you used. Once it was paired all I had to do was set up the uart I had it plugged it into. They have newer modules like the HC-08, AT-09, HM-10 or HM-11 that works with iOS. It is my understanding that the HC-05 is bluetooth 2.0 so not supported by iOS. ![]() Then I just paired it using my android phone with the code 1234. Once power is applied to the HC-05 module the first time it goes into pairing mode.
